Pulau Ketam Dogs Rescue

Pulau Ketam is like any other ordinary fishing village in Malaysia. However there is not a single stray to be found in its back lanes or road. The villagers of Pulau Ketam have been rounding up all dogs in the island and shipping them off to a nearby deserted mangrove swamp. This poisonous snake infested swamp is a death trap for any of its passer-by. There are a group of people, namely SPCA Selangor and The Furry Friends Farm are doing all they can to rescue these poor dogs. Their trips to the swamp showed that the dogs are frailed looking, thin and very sick. There were even dogs eating out the carcus of other dead dogs. It was a pityful sight. Thus far, almost 80 dogs have been saved and another 300 more are waiting to be rescued. The rescued canines will be nurtured to health and given new homes.
